I don’t know how many times I’ve suggested to clients and students they develop a meditation practice. Regular, daily meditation.
Probably about the same amount of times people told me I needed to do the same.
One of the benefits of being a spirit medium is that I get to hear messages and wisdom from spirit. Sometimes I wonder if they’re meant as much for me as for the person I’m delivering the messages to.
I decided to finally listen. Not that long ago, I began a daily meditation practice. I set my alarm. I wake up, sit up in bed (after checking Facebook for a couple of minutes to get my eyes open) and put on my meditation CD.
It’s made a world of difference in only a short time. I feel more energized, I have a better attitude to start the day and feel aligned with the universe. Situations and ideas I struggled with just weeks ago have eased and released. New opportunities have come into my life. I no longer have the desire to obsessively play Candy Crush.
Why has this happened? Because I’m taking the time to connect with spirit, my source. Aligning with this energy each morning and raising my vibration to be in sync with the highest good for my life allows me to step into the flow of co-creation. Basically, I stop thinking so much, I get out of my own way and allow goodness into my life.
There are several reasons people choose to meditate: for clarity and balance, for health, for abundance, to increase their intuition and to encourage psychic and mediumship development to unfold.
Here are some meditation CDs I like that, with regular and repeated use, can help you achieve those goals.
Getting into the Vortex: Guided Meditations CD and User Guide by Esther and Jerry Hicks
This CD and book set help you release resistance to all the good that is coming into your life. It has meditations for general well being, abundance, physical well being and relationships. All you have to do is listen and breathe.
The Elegance of Pachelbel by Michael J. Maxwell
A Spiritualist church I used to go to used this album as the meditation music every week. It instantly transports me to a place of connection with spirit and is relaxing and calm. This is a good choice if you want to pose your own questions to the universe at the beginning of your meditation or you feel comfortable connecting with spirit without guidance.
Journey’s Within: Guided Meditations with Spirit by Bill Philipps
If you want to develop your mediumship skills, this album can help. I’ll offer the caveat that I don’t like his voice, but once you get past that, it’s a good meditation CD for mediumship growth. The CD is broken into three parts: journey to awareness, journey to your spirit guide and journey to your loved ones. I’ve done spirit guide meditations so many times I no longer need to be guided, but I still find it enjoyable and helpful.
Keep in mind that developing mediumship abilities takes time. Sometimes lots of time. So don’t expect to pop in a CD (or play an MP3 on your phone or iPod) and get immediate results. Remember that every meditation builds on the last and is never a waste of time.
Making the effort and taking the time to meditate daily is truly a gift you give to yourself. It’s easy to say you don’t have time or can’t make time (and it probably makes you anxious just thinking about it). But once you get over your initial resistance and start, you’ll see how vital a part of your life meditation becomes. The benefits are worth the effort.
